Hello Scotty!
I have a 2001 Rav4, 4cly/ front wheel drive, that I bought used about 4 years ago as my first car, it currently has 180k miles on it. I really love that car but i have read all the issues you have mentioned they have. Recently the reverse stopped working and went on limp mode (would not go past 15-20mile p/hr). Is this something that can be easily fixed like a broken solenoid or is it the transmission and its not worth it and should sell it?
Thanks!

When the reverse gear goes out, the transmission is going out as well.
You have 3 options:
- Put in a remanufactured transmission
- Put in a junkyard transmission (it's a gamble though)
- Junk the car entirely
I would junk the car (my opinion) because I don't think it's worth it. But if you want to replace the transmission, go with option 1.
