Hey Scotty, I have a 2008 Dodge Dakota slt crew cab I purchased used. Turns out the previous owner must’ve never put the spare tire remover tool back in the vehicle. What’s the best way to go about getting the spare tire down in this case. Thanks.

Try to order a Spare tire tool from Amazon, eBay, or Craigslist.
Can’t find anything online on any of those sites
when I search "2008 Dodge Dakota spare tire tool" in google, the first three results are exactly what you're looking for. And there seems to be dozens of brand new repalcements on eBay for less than $50 shipped. You might want to try looking again.
Or find a pick-a-part type of yard and look for your truck there. That can be hit or miss though because many yards remove the jacks before putting them out.
