When I spin my wheel when lifted can hear a clunk like noise and when accelerating in 1st gear

It's most likely a worn out CV joint
And is it safe to drive
probably not. They can fail pretty catastrophically

It’s sounds like it’s in the transmission
You have to take it to a transmission expert then.
Unless you know how to remove and rebuild transmissions yourself.
