Hello, I've got a 2007 Honda Fit DX 1.5L Automatic Transmission with 150,000 miles and I can't turn the key in the ignition. I can freely remove and insert the key, but it is impossible to turn at all. Unfortunately I have no spare key to try. While the wheel is technically locked, it's no different than how I always park and I have never had this issue previously; however I still tried moving the wheel and no luck. I've also verified the car is in Park, blown the cylinder out with compressed air, cleaned the key, lubricated the cylinder+key with silicone spray lubricant and nothing worked. It's also worth noting I lubricated all the locks on my car with the same spray 3-4 months prior. Is it possible it may have caused the issue somehow?
After comparing my key to my brother's Civic key, mine does look rather worn out. Is there anything I can try as a last ditch effort before getting a new key made? Also, would it be foolhardy to replace the key without changing the ignition switch as well? Thanks!
Did you move the wheel WHILE turning the key?
Unfortunately I have no spare key
Always, always, always ... have a spare key.
It's probably going to cost you more money to have one made now.

No

Nope

You need to talk to a locksmith
Yes, I tried moving the wheel while simultaneously attempting to turn the key, as well as moving the wheel and then turning. And as for not having a spare, you are totally right. Lesson learned 😛 I will be speaking to a locksmith about it.
