Hello Scotty,

I drive 2017 Ram 1500, (59650) miles, several months back, I hit a small boulder and I started to hear squeaky noises on side streets but not the highway, I recently changed the brake pads, not the rotors. Saw your video about the wheel gear being a possibility, your thoughts?

On another thought, 4years ago, my late father left me an Awd 2016 BMW x5 with 11,500 miles, probably used it only in the snow, 8000 miles later, haven't had any issues, though I saw your video on the woes of BMWs, and I hope that maintaining this car is enough, your thoughts?

Many thanks,

Martha Jacobo

One question per post, please, it says in the in the Forum Rules, hyperlinked here: https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/notice/welcome/

I'm not sure what you mean by a "wheel gear". Jack up the front end and feel for play. 9 and 3 o'clock indicate tie rods, 12 and 6 o'clock on the wheels indicate ball joints. You might also get the truck aligned if you're noticing abnormal wear.
