29 year old engine...parts are worn throughout the valve train. Ticking can be the result of that wear, bent pushrods, collapsed/seized lifters.

Lifters seize mostly due to sludge from poor oil change intervals.

Rislone main ingredient is...kerosene !   Great to clean oil off of parts...hmmm...think about that.  ...bearing surfaces and seal lips...

Automatic transmission fluid would be a better choice...super detergent base and maintains some viscosity. Add a quart to existing oil, idle engine for 5 minutes max, drain, new oil and filter, run for 5 minutes, drain, refill with new filter and oil. It won't kill it, might not cure the tick, but that's the dice you roll.

Wash the sludge off by partially dissolving it...everything gets to travel via the oil pump and passageways throughout the engine...including the rod/main/camshaft bearings. None of which tolerate contamination.

I'd put up with the ticking unless you want to roll the dice, or find the root cause and fixing it.
