The markets are betting on Tesla's venture into power grids.  That is, large power companies purchasing billions of dollars in Tesla battery stations to stabilize the power distribution within grids. They are also betting on Tesla selling its auto-pilot software, batteries and electric motors to other automotive and trucking companies. And don't forget the likelihood of massive new government subsidies, and mandates for 100% electric vehicles.

Oh, and let's not forget that independent auto mechanics, nor vehicle owners will not be able to access or repair these new vehicles.

Large corporate monopolies appear to be the future of transportation.  And my bet is it will get far worse moving forward.

Very fair comment, … lot more to Tesla than just stupid-looking cars.

There are just too many if's though.
Europe is first in mandating electric cars, and, so far, those people prefer VW electrics.
The Honda e electric car is selling fast. Toyota will soon jump in (with far better reliability than Tesla).
And all it takes is one company to invent a better, lower cost battery for Tesla to find itself in a bad place with all its debt.
Lol. I'm not buying that stock.

Well, … we all remember Sony, Nokia, BlackBerry, … I even remember Mitsubishi cell phone - it was a cute little gadget! Vintage all now, …
… and now, we are fighting Huawei.

Anyway, … "investing": … this forum is primarily interested in most depreciating investment of them all, … dismiss the risks of this dangerous action at your peril! 🙂
