hey Scotty love you channel your knowledge is very valuable for everyone with todays car problems. I have a little problem maybe you can point me in a direction that might help. My car is a 2004 toyota camry LE,it has 163,000 miles and the car itself runs like a top. no oil burning probs, tranny still shifts well(original). but i have been strugglin with this glitch is the best way i can describe it.my inspection ran out last october and have yet too get it passed.the problem is as far as the OBD II emission i have 2 tests that just keep coming up "test not completed yet" they are the o2 sensor and catalytic test.a mechanic had it for months and so far the catalytic converter,o2 sensors,ECM replaced and replacement reprogrammed with OEM software, battery, alternator, gas cap, injectors and throttle body cleaned by hand(not just a bottle of cleaner in gas)spark plugs all been replaced and still test not complete.no check engine codes have popped up ever(well slight leak in evap pending code which i cleared and got the new gas cap LOL) until it runs those tests they wont pass me for emissions.like i said no check engine and the car runs like a top, always starts right up. i have the specific drive cycle print out which i keep following too try and get the test to run but too no avail after a few thousand miles since this started. Im pulling my hair out here it just seems whatever i do these tests wont run.i'm thinkin its gotta be something dumb that is throwing off the ECM parameters in order too ok the test to run but i just haven't been able too figure it out. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated Scotty. I hope you and your family are all healthy and happy and thank you in advance for any input you might have. THANK YOU
Okay you have those two not ready. That means there's nothing wrong with either the oxygen sensor system or the catalytic converter. I realize you said you had those things replaced, but what was used? If it wasn't OEM and aftermarket often, those will not jive with Toyota software. Now. If they were OEM, you'd have to check the wiring up and down and pray there's a short somewhere and that the main computer isn't failing. But really my bet's on either a wiring is pinched or shorted or you didn't use OEM parts
