I've got a Camry hybrid, and wondering if it's OK to use a memory saver that plugs into the OBDII port when changing the 12 volt battery?

It's safe to use a memory saver plugged into the OBD2 port. They were literally made for this purpose . Mechanics use them all the time.it's OK to use a memory saver that plugs into the OBDII port when changing the 12 volt battery?
