Odd noise when accelerating

Hi,

I've recorded a video of the intermittent noise I'm experiencing when accelerating.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPr0beyYEBo

Mechanics at the dealers say it's a normal sound for this car and that it's the gearbox when it's under load.  I'm no expert myself but I've never experienced this in any other car I've owned

Car is: 2016 Renault Megane 1.2 Tce Gt Line Nav / 80km on the clock.

I'm not after buying a tool but thank you.

Welcome new member. You don't need to buy that tool permanently if you have an AutoZone in your region of the world (they don't manufacture Renault vehicles for sale in the US, which is how I determined you live elsewhere). You "pay" the full amount as a deposit to ensure the tool is returned. When the tool is returned, you get your money back.

I'll wait for someone else to reply saying they know what that noise is 🙂

We don't have magic crystal balls, or Jedi using the Force, here. If you want to figure out where the noise is coming from, rent the tool.

Better isolate where the noise is coming from and then you can decide whether it's "normal" or not. Here's a link to a video Scotty made:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy5nqh3LSs4

@hixster Not possible. I don't own this tool and even if I did the noise I'm experiencing only happens whilst driving. Not stationary.

Scotty's video shows how to find where a noise is coming from even if your car only makes the noise while you're driving. These tools are most helpful when you are trying to find such sounds: https://youtu.be/Wy5nqh3LSs4?t=78
