Odometer vs engine miles

Scotty,

I purchased a 2017 honda pilot AWD automatic from a dealership about 6 months ago. Today I connected my autel to it and reset my oil monitor. When I bought it, it had 104,000 miles the timing belt was changed at 80,000 miles. After resetting the oil monitor I went into the Odometer icon on the autel and here's what I found. Odometer guage reading was 115,591 and the engine reading was 186,026. I'm thinking those numbers should be the same but I don't know. I've looked online and can't find anything on odometer vs engine miles so I'm reaching out to you to see if you have the answer. Thank you in advanced for your help.

The odometer shows miles and the scan tool kilometres. Once we already had such question

Thanks for the update. I reached out to autel and they stated it was a software glitch and they are updating the software by the end of the month. They are sending me a test package.

You are welcome. Above mentioned numbers match conversion ratio of miles to kilometres and vice versa. Check the units in the scan tool anyway.

That's some some kind of a screw up in the software, probably. Because 186,000 something kilometers is 115,000 mi and that can't just be a coincidence. I'm assuming it's switching between miles and kilometers. It's got to be that
