Officials hope new laws will curb rise in metro Detroit auto thefts

Hi Scott,

Sorry, I do not have a question at this moment, but i just wanted to share this with everybody.

New laws that took effect last month make it a crime to possess or use the AutoProPad device for the illegitimate purpose of stealing vehicles that deploy the push-button start system. The laws make it a 5-year felony to possess such a device and a 10-year felony to use the device to steal a vehicle.

Well certainly a good idea to ban them. But of course thieves have all kinds of things like guns and thief tools that are illegal. Of course. As the saying goes, if guns are criminalized then only criminals will have guns
