Hey Scotty, I have a 1980 C3 Corvette 5.7 with 112,000 miles. I just bought it and I’m not sure what oil is in it and I’m not sure the oil history. What oil should I use? It calls for 5W30. should I use for synthetic high mileage?

You can switch to Synthetic but you have to use an additive for flat tappet cams that has Zinc in it. Or buy a high zinc Synthetic.

Use the recommended oil with a good quality filter and instead of paying extra money for high mileage one, change the oil and filter more frequently.
