I’m getting ready to do my first oil change on my 2020 Subaru Crosstrek. Bought it at 25,000 miles and now it’s at 29,000 miles. I’ve watched Scotty’s video on how to change it probably more than 50 times and I feel like I can do it. I looked in the manual and saw that it takes 0W-20 synthetic, so I went down to autozone and got some. The one I bought is “Mobil 1 ADVANCED FUEL ECONOMY (Suitable for Hybrid vehicles). The hybrid part threw me off but is this okay to use? I’m excited to do this, but also don’t want to screw this up. If anyone has advice on which brand oil is best or if I can even use this one since it says it’s suitable for hybrid vehicles it would mean a lot! Thank you
if I can even use this one
As always, read the owner's manual. If the oil is certified to meet the specification listed there, then it's fine to put in your engine.

I think 4k is a bit early to be changing the oil. Unless it's been driven under harsh conditions, 6-7k is fine.
Thank you! I’ll read it right now, I bought it when it was 25,000 miles but I don’t know when the last oil change was. Will it hurt if I change it early?
that's a good point. No it won't hurt anything.

No it will not hurt if you change it early. It's changing it later than you should that isn't a good idea.

I'm going based off of my own car; a Honda Civic; and in the manual it says 0w-20 any brand as long as it's SAE certified (or on the oil cap says "SAE 0w-20". So if it's the same with your car you can use any brand that meets this specification.
Thanks! Appreciate it
