Oil Filter Housing Gasket Leak

Re: 1997 Honda Accord LX-V6 (automatic) / 180k miles

Hi Scotty -

About a year ago I replaced every oil gasket I could find leaking.  (Couldn't even drive the car.)

Cyl Head Covers, Cyl Side Covers, Oil Filter Housing, Rear Main Seal (shop) - all OEM from Honda.

The worst leak was from Oil Filter Housing Gasket, plus it dripped on the exhaust - stinky!

(Thankfully I discovered a 12mm reversible ratcheting box with 12-degree offset - very difficult, otherwise pull the engine?)

Now the Oil Filter Housing gasket is leaking again 🙁     Should I have gone with a Fel-pro gasket?

Any idea why this happened?  Any suggestions?

Thank you much,

 - Jim

P.S. Thank you for all you do helping the 'world' with car maintenance and advice - Cheers!

Incorrect bolt torque and tightening sequence. Get OEM gasket and torque it to specs.
