Hello everyone, need help today for my03 Toyota Echo with 160k. One day it just wouldn’t start and it was not showing any codes on my scanner and the one in Autozone as well. One mechanic after scanning it said it was Crankshaft and Camshaft sensor and while replacing it i found some oil in the connector. What could be the cause of it? Thanks

It's not unusual for a 19-year-old car to have oil leaks, and the Echo was a low-end model to begin with. Probably some oil drips got thrown around the engine compartment and some got into the connector.

broken or worn out o-ring?

or did the oil seep down into it from above?

You should replace the sensor and any gaskets it has

It is really weird that check engine light didn’t come on and 2 Obds didn’t catch it.
