I have a 2014 3.7 mustang with an automatic transmission. What can cause oil on the spark plugs thread. I had a evap purge valve stuck open. Would that cause the problem. There is no oil on the spark plug only on the threads. The car runs rough on idle.

Oil on the outside of spark plugs is typically caused by a leaky valve cover gasket.

No, the purge valve vents gasoline fumes from the carbon canister into the engine. Your valve cover gasket or the grommets that seal the plug from the valve cover is probably worn.
Hook up a scan tool and look at live data to start figuring out why it's running rough at idle. Post relevant info like fuel trims and any codes stored, so we can help you further.
