99 buick park avenue base. Have an oil leak that im suspecting is the oil pan gasket, i get everything unbolted and i find out the gasket is glued to the pan with what im assuming is a silicone based product. problem is, on these cars, you cannot get the gasket out unless you unbolt the oil sump. so the oil sump is stopping me from getting the pan down. can you help me figure out a way to separate the oil pan gasket and the oil pan please?

gasket scraper

im laying on the ground. the oil pan is hanging off the car maybe 2 inches. the gasket is glued to the pan. how would you suggest i use this gasket scraper to attack this gasket?

I guess I would have to see what you've got going on

is there ways to submit pictures?

you can upload them to imgur.com and paste the link here

ok stay posted. tomorrow i will go take a couple snaps of it to show you.

I don't know what you mean by sump. The pan is the sump.

ok maybe you mean the pump.

the pump pick up tube is attached with two bolts.

But according to my research the pan comes out before the pump. You probably just have to rotate the pan just right way, and then use a bit of force. They are put together like puzzles sometimes. I had a similar problem getting my front axle out. I felt like I was solving a rubix cube.

the pan... is glued to the gasket. if you could. look up the 3800 series 2 oil pan gasket.

cut it off
