hi there, I have a 1997 Buick leSabre 220k miles. The cars oil pressure dropped to 0 out of no where and smoke poured from behind the car. We shut the car off to avoid damage. We refilled the oil and it did not leak when the car was off we cranked the car for a split second and oil poured from under the car-basically all of it and the oil pressure stayed at 0. Oil filter, and pan are fine seems to be coming from the side of the engine. Any ideas?
Update! Oil cooler hose blew clean off from the bolt at the rear of the engine. Not sure why but shouldn’t be a difficult fix!
called it
A big leak like that should be pretty obvious. Oil cooler hose?
Very possible I can’t see where the hose would be located on this car. Unfortunately I dumped 5 quarts in and it immediately spews it straight down onto the ground upon startup. Mind boggling 🙁
I'm curious. So what happens when you get under the car with a flashlight and follow the trail of oil?
Well when I get under the car the whole side of the engine from about midway up is just covered in oil, when I say it pours it absolutely gushes quarts out. I think I’m going to have to tow it to a shop unfortunately
That would be best.
oil filter loose...?
