2021 Mazda cx5 non turbo AWD, 75,000 miles.
Has been prematurely showing the Low oil pressure symbol on the dashboard before oil change mileage. Had it scanned and was shown code P0524 ""Engine oil pressure too Low". Oil change was done yet after 2-3k miles it popped back up.
Any idea why this is happening? I don't smell burning oil or see an oil leak. Also no odd sounds.
prematurely showing the Low oil pressure symbol
what do you mean "prematurely"? You should never see the oil pressure light. Oil change needed or not.
Any idea why this is happening?
What does the dipstick say?
Are you using the correct oil and filter type per the owner's manual?
I would use a mechanical gauge to verify the oil pressure.
was shown code P0524 ""Engine oil pressure too Low".
Here is the diagnostic procedure for P0524
@imperator thank you for the information and reply. It's my sister's car and she had the oil and filter changed at a shop so that I'm not sure of.
The oil was low when she checked and I'll check again later and go through these steps.
@imperator Will do! Also should we change the oil earlier than normal going forward. Every 4k miles or so
no 5k is fine. Just keep it topped up.
