Oil Sludge

Scotty,

I have a 2007 Ford Expedition with the 5.4 3V. It has 236k miles. I can see some oil sludge in the heads under the valve covers. Is there anything I can do to clean that out without pulling the engine apart? Is there any danger in doing that? Thanks for your help!

It's a problem with these engines. The oil passages are too small.

Try using ATS 505 [Scotty is not vested in this company, but likes their products]
