2000 Ford F350 7.3 diesel dually with 296k miles
I have changed injectors 2 times in 3 years!! Replaced “O” rings several times!! Replaced glow plugs 3 times!! I have had the top of the engine off so many times Ford should have a zipper!!!!
Last time l put it all back together...the IDM code popped!!! I put a new IDM in and it still has a the IDM code!!! Runs like crap!!
Love the truck...but can’t afford to breast feed my Ford any longer without an actual fix occurring!!

you're running into what most people run into with high mileage American diesel engines they used to be really well made with mechanical injection systems but they are all computerized now and as they age and get where you really need a diesel mechanic to.unfortunately there are very few good diesel mechanics in the United States that work on cars and trucks that aren't giant 18 wheelers. Of course most dealers are crooked as can be so if you can find an independent diesel mechanic ask all your friends search around on the internet and pray you can find one
