Hi guys. Is buying used golf or Jetta with 2.5l engine with about 100 thousand km good idea. Will it be reliable or is it going to be money pit.
How old is it?
100,000 km is about 62,000 miles for those of us metrically challenged :-). Over time as they age and rack up miles, because of the German tech they can give problems and become money pits. If you like them a lot, just lease a newer one and return before the bumper to bumper warranty expires.
Nah I'd pass on a Jetta unless you are in Europe in which case I would only consider the diesel + manual Jetta.
I wouldn't. They really aren't made that well. Now if you are in Europe and it is a diesel, maybe. But not a gas motor here in the states.
If that’s a petrol 2.5L, no! VW makes reliable Diesel engines.
Run away from their petrol models.
The rest of the car is still an over engineered German money pit.
