Opinion on a used 2007 Kia Picanto 67,000kms in Slovakia

Greetings from Slovakia!

Since January I have been using an '07 Kia Picanto as my daily driver. It is my first car ( I am 19.)

The previous owner, who I bought it from, didn't maintain the car at all. It looked like a dirty piece of junk once I saw it for the first time. The vehicle rode nicely, though. The man wanted to get to get rid of it ASAP (he had already bought a much larger vehicle, so this Kia had been sitting for over a year in his driveway.

What I liked about the deal is that I got the car dirt cheap.

However, since the car had been neglected, there were 4 issues with it so far. I had to exchange the fuel pump, spark plugs, the exhaust and one engine part I don't know the name of. An oil change was carried out, too.

Other than that, it has been VERY reliable. I put the car back to life, cleaned it, and repaired everything that was needed.

Do you think it will last me a long time? I really love the car and I don't want to sell it. Actually, I want to drive it for many years.

Did I make a good choice? Can I expect reliability from a 13 year old Kia? ....and counting...

The car has 67 500 original kilometers (41 951 miles)

I appreciate your opinion. Thank you very much.

They are just average, comparable to the tiny Suzukis. If you can get parts for it, it may still last you a fair while since it’s got very low mileage.

Just don’t expect it to last to you for 200,000-300,000kms trouble free like a Yaris or Jazz would.

Since you bought it, drive it & see how long it’ll last.
