My question is, I have a 2002 ford ranger xlt v6 with 145k miles and uses 5w20 oil, I was wondering when I change the oil could I change over to synthetic oil and bump up the oil from 5w20 to 5w30/10w30? Thank you 😊

You can, stick with oil specification and hope for no leaks.

I recommend you stick to the OEM specifications of oil which you’ll find in your owner’s manual.
Changing to full synthetic on an old, high mileage vehicle may invite trouble.
Why fix something that isn’t broken?

Which V6 engine ?? 3.0 or 4.0 ?? 3.0 liter engine, keep using what has been used.
4.0 liter, that engine could care less what you put in.
