1.8L ss model, is there any life left in it?
What kind of problems to expect ?
Is it an automatic or a manual?
Automatic
@g-t
Hi the source is incorrect - it leads to the ZZ engine and that has nothing to do with the 2ZR.
-
The ZR can last 250k km, it’s the engine from the Corolla, although it still ain’t a particularly good engine (the ValveMatic system is arguably worse then the infemous BMW Vanos)
-
Personally what I’d be concerned about is the transmission but it really depends on service intervals and use. The CVT going bad on these can be as early as 180,000 km or as late as 230,000 km
Thank you
I apologise, @dan thanks for correction. 1ZZ-FE 1.8L was used in first two generations of Avensis.
There is link for 2ZR-FAE

Anyway there is not much life left, unfortunately.
On this side of the pond, they are most comparable to a Corolla, but with a little bigger size, and they are probably one of the most reliable cars you could buy. As for that particular one, a mechanic can tell you if it is a peach or a lemon - we can't check for accidents, water damage, blown head gaskets, etc. over the internet.

They were instead of Camry here in Europe
Thank you
