I am considering ordering a 2022 RAM 1500 TRX and wanted to see if you stand by your statement that the TRX is an exception to the build quality issues with Stellantis. These things aint cheap but I like the idea of combining my screaming weekend car with my working truck.
No, they are not the exception. The rest of the vehicle (besides the powertrain) is still the same quality as the rest of their truck lineup. I would get rid of the vehicle before the warranty expires: the good news is being a super truck (and probably the last ICE super truck before electrification) it should retain most of its value regardless of its quality/reliability.
Big mistake buying anything made by Dodge.
Can't you just lease it?
I only drive about 8k miles a year. Scotty's video on OEM part costs also scared the crap out of me for the TRX. Maybe the resale will be good enough to just drive it for a few years under warranty.
That might be your saving grace: driving 8,000 miles a year, having it under warranty, and good resale value.
