Overheating problem

Hi Scotty, I have a 95 ford contour gl.. I just changed the radiator and thermostat on my car but it still seems to almost overheat when I’m idling when stopped at lights and such but the thing is my fan will kick on when it’s close to overheating to bring back to normal temperature but will almost overheat again when I’m idling again. I was just wondering if that would mean I have a short in my fan or if I should maybe try changing my temperature sensor on my thermostat housing?.. thanks again for all the help and advice

The thermostatic switch that controls the fan probably needs to be replaced if the fan is turning on at too high a temperature.

Doesn’t really help because my car is not completely overheating, it just gets close to the red but cools down once the fan kicks on

i had a car like that once

i wired the fan to a thermostatic switch that turned the fan on at 160 degrees

just my two cents
