hi scoty am having issues with my nissan note e11, I washed the engine last Thursday and yesterday Saturday it started, jerking but I thought it was not much of a problem but I realized the overheating sign came on and I pulled over and called my mechanic and he asked me to run some test and see if my radiator fan is working I did as he said then he said it fine so, he asked me to drive at a low speed and turn on the AC to get closer to him for full examination, the overheating symbol never came up, it was a bit late so he said he will work on it today, as he had but now the jerking has stop and the engine runs fine but the radiator fan turns on and never stop and today the overheating symbol came on and I had to pull over again. I have called him and he says he has to run a test on the car but am asking what will be the possible cause of that overheating symbol comes on a short while and off and the radiator fan finds it hard to stop or cut off when the engine becomes hot.
Well sure, seems like the engine is actually overheating and there are so many reasons a car can overheat. See my video how to fix an overheating car Scotty. But basically it sounds like your mechanic doesn't know what the heck he's doing. I'd probably start with a better one
i had similer problem
turned out
the fan was running
but not that fast
was on its last moment
it eventually died
between i think 200k~240k km
& 6years of abuse
from driving
or just park & idle
could also be your water coolent valve or what ever its called...
changed might few days ago...
lucky it was stuck open half way
