All my cars are toyota but my brother inlaw had a 2014 chevy malibu 2.5 ecotech 100,000 miles with the code p0017 keep poping up even after we changed all the intake and exhaust including both solenoid, we also put a brand new timing chain kit and code still shows. We have not changed the cam phasers or camshaft. Please help. And yes I did told him to get a toyota LOL.

Well those are notorious for having problems with the cam phasers. I would assume it was that if you put all the other parts on correctly including the chain setup
How can I tell if the cam phaser is bad and should I change both or just the exhaust side? Thanks

2014 chevy malibu 2.5 ecotech 100600 miles. Changed all the sensor on both intake and exhaust sides brand new timing chain kit and phasers but code p0017 still showing. Please help.
