Did you test the old sensor first to determine it was bad? Did you install an OEM sensor or is it aftermarket?

They saying it’s a dealer code

Who are "they"? It's a common generic code. Have you looked up the potential causes? There are several besides the sensor itself.

@chucktobias no I didn’t test it I was told to by a mechanic to purchase one and I did a oem one and the code keeps coming back up so another mechanic told me it’s a dealer code and to go to a dealer ? I just didn’t want to go straight to the dealer to be overcharged for something.

As I explained it is not a "dealer code" it is a generic code. The links I provided will give you other potential causes for the code as well as troubleshooting information.

Trouble codes aren't shopping lists.

P0101 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit.

"Circuit" means the whole system. The computer, the sensor, the power supply, all the wires and connectors, and all the other circuit elements like fuses.

If you don't isolate the cause, then you're just wasting your money on sensors. So make sure your fuses are good, and measure if voltage is normal. Then check all the wiring. The connectors if they're snapped closed and there's no corrosion in them, etc. Next you would measure if power is getting to the sensor , etc. There is process you need to go through and it's all in the links Chuck provided.
