I have a 2004 Frontier truck, 4cylinder engine, KA24DE. 260,000 miles. The #2 cylinder misfire code P0302 came up a month go, but engine runs great, gas mileage has not changed. I changed plugs, plug wires, distributer cover, rotor, ignition coil, and fuel filter. Checked compression and compared to other cylinders-good. Put on a vacuum gauge, over 20 inches of vacuum. Swapped injectors between #1 and 2, still shows misfire on #2. Cleaned MAF sensor. Still getting code.
Did you physically test for spark on cyl 2? Does the plug come out wet? See the FAQ for more info.
I did not check for spark> It's dry.
Check the continuity of all your spark plugs. Even new ones come up bad sometimes, especially NGK.
Thanks. I swapped plugs with #1 cylinder, no go.
Have you checked the camshaft position sensor?
No, but would the engine run if was bad? If it is the problem from what I've read you cannot get it separately, you have to buy the entire distributer.
I'm not sure on the Frontier. I have read that one of them malfunctioning could cause a misfire, though, so I assume it can.
