I have a 2000 dodge dakota 4.7L that sometimes starts right up, but sometimes takes 4 to 5 seconds to start. Also recently a p0305 clyinder 5 misfire check engine light code popped up.could these be symptoms of a bad fuel pump??

There are many things that can trip a misfire code....more thorough diagnostics need to be done to determine the cause of the misfire.

It could. A pressure gauge would solve that mystery pretty quickly.

It's 22 years old. When did you last change your spark plugs?
