Hi Scotty,
I replaced the left and right bearings with Moog on my wife's 2014 Subaru Forester XT. Reason the left side was humming. Once I was finished I started on a road test I got the hill assist and could hear the ABS module and then the Christmas tree came on. The car went into limp mode. I returned both moog and bought oem on ebay, as well as both left and right VSS sensors. I got same code. The speedometer was not registering. I bought the Creader X431 VII+ to clear the ABS but the code is permanent. Finally I disconnected the batt and touched both positive and neg terminals to discharge. waited 20min and I got the speedometer back and checked both VSS on the scan tool but they were not registering only the rears and reset lights. Went back to no speedometer reading.
I'm stumped. Please help.
Never buy critical parts on ebay, there is a very good chance you got counterfeit Chinese knockoffs. However changing out the bearings should not have caused any kind of electronic glitches unless something was disturbed, like the sensors. It may well be the ebay sensors causing your current problems. The fact that the front sensors are not even registering on your scan tool tells the tale.
Ebay used to be decent for parts years ago. Would be the first place I'd check, but today I don't even bother going there anymore. the bearings shouldn't have caused any electrical problems unless you pinched some wires or damaged a sensor(s) in the process.
