Hi Scotty,
My girl’s 2017 chevy cruze diesel popped up with code P059F; active grille air shutter “a” performance/stuck off. Is this a serious code to worry about? Is this something that should still be under warranty? If this helps, it was 50 degrees the night before with no code and the next morning it was 10 degrees and the code was on. Thanks.
That code is not a big deal at all. The engine should function normally with or without that stupid grille shutter. I swear they are making cars way more complex than they need to be nowadays. How many miles are on the vehicle? Depending on the mileage, it may be covered under warranty.
It is not an engine code and apparently, it is related to the door situation in front of the spoiler (which is closed to reduce drag force at higher speed). With that being said, call up the dealer, if it is covered under warranty, fix it, if not, leave it alone.
