P0606 Code on my 2006 Pontiac Vibe

Hi,

I recently bought a 2006 Pontiac Vibe 1.8 ltr 2wd base model with 247,000 miles on it for $1,000. While driving it this morning the check engine light came on and then it immediately began a rough idle and erratic and almost no acceleration. So, I pulled over and had it towed back to my house. Once there I plugged in my basic OBD2 II scan tool and it showed a P0606 code ECM/PCM. What's the chances that it's a faulty ECM as opposed to something else - a bad connection, fuse, sensor, etc...? I don't want to replace the ECM unless I have to of course. Also, and this may be totally unrelated but I've smelled an odor while driving the car in the last week (including this morning) that smelled like burnt charcoal or something akin to that smell. Thank you for any direction you can provide

Well unfortunately I know is it often is a bad main computer. They had a problem with some of them. But if not check the ground of the computer and all the wiring, bad ground or wiring can do that too
