Parking Brake Argument

Hey Scotty would you please settle an arguement between me, and a friend? So does engaging your parking brake when you park anywhere, flat surface or hill save your transmission from damage like the parking pin, and whatnot? Thank you for your time!

it prevents wear and tear on the park pawl when parking on an incline. This has been discussed here several times.

You should set the parking brake whenever you park your vehicle, complete flat surface or incline to protect the transmission. Plus, if anything hits your vehicle, it won't roll away or worse, break the parking prawl.
