Scotty, I have a 2012 Chevy Equinox with 20k miles on it, its a 2WD. When I drive it on the interstate for an hour or so, after I exit and slow to a stop, just at 1mph or less I get this rubbing like noise in the rear passenger wheel. I've checked it with an IR scope and that hub reads about 120F, and the driver side reads 100F. I've replaced the brake caliber assembly and that didn't fix it. Around town it is fine, it only has this issue when driving higher speeds for extended times. If you jack the car up afterwards and rotate the tire it will make that wiring noise just as the wheel slows to a stop. If you spin the wheel at a few MPH you don't hear anything....it only make that noise when the wheel makes the last rotation to a stop. Wheel hub bearing?????? Is there a way to check that before I dig in a replace it, or is there an alternate item I should investigate, I checked and backed off the E-brake all the way and that didn't seem to make a difference either.......thank you sir.....Eric.
sounds like a bearing to me
