Petroleum Jelly to Lubricate Screws for Headlight Assembly, 2004 Chrysler Town and Country Limited

Topic starter

Is petroleum jelly unsafe to use on the screws, which do rust with the metal clips on the headlight assembly? The headlight assembly (headlight housing) breaks and cracks and then leaks with water if those screws must be forced out of the metal retainer clips for mounting the headlight assembly. The anti-seize and other lubricants should be used with all threaded bolts, screws, washers, etc. Thank you for your advice.

it's safe to use, but anti-seize would work better.

Or replace with stainless steel. That's what I did for my tail lights.
