There is a large plastic cover under my 2022 Nissan Altima that has to be removed to change the oil. Does the cover need to be reinstalled?
For a low clearance car like your Altima, I would put it back.
What I did on one of my cars is cut a big enough hole (around 12"x12") so that I can change oil without taking the whole stupid thing off every time. You can even make your own cover for that hole if you wish.
Bingo! Great solution!
That’s a “beauty cover” for the engine. You don’t have to put it back on.
I think the post is about plastic covers underneath the car. They do provide some protection and help aerodynamics.
My under-car plastic panels fell out in the road years ago and I've not had any issues, but if I still had them I'd put them back after working under there.
I would reinstall it. The engineers who designed your car placed it there for a purpose, not to be an annoyance.
