Toyota Yaris 1.4 d4d engine cuts out intermitently while driving. Changed the Camshaft sensor engine still hunting a rough idle. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

P1229 on Toyota usually means "Fuel System Over Pressure" is common on these - usually it means that your pressure regulator on the fuel rail has gone bad. A very common issue, shouldn't cost too much to replace the regulator.

I'd first repair this, reset codes and see how it goes - usually this is all that you need.

P0340 usually means "Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Malfunction" means it's not the sensor - it's the circuit or the ECU. The ECU on these 1.4L engines is known to have some glitches - If it's supplying constant voltage to the injectors even when the car's off - it's bad.

If solving the first one and clearing codes doesn't help - try the obvious things like checking the air filter, cleaning the EGR valve and replacing the PCV system (also common maintenance things you should do on a 1.4 D4D)

Also, I've researched this engine online and found that people suggest that if you have oil consumption you should immediately check the turbocharger cause it and the PCV are usually the ones to cause this issue.

Also check that your engine has gotten all of the required maintenance.
