Hey Scotty,
about a month ago I got a vent valve solenoid malfunction code on my 2011 ford ranger with about 200k km on it. I replaced my vent valve, and all was good for about a month and about 1000km, then a day or two ago the check engine light came on again and my scanner read out a PO446 code. The vent valve is brand new, and I tried a new gas cap for about 5 mins to see if it was that and the code kept recurring. Any suggestions on where to look next?I do recall a bit of exposed wire right at the pigtail going into the solenoid but slapped some electrical tape on it. Maybe that could be causing a problem?
All the best, Lukas

that sounds like a prime suspect. The code indicates a problem with circuit, not the pressure.
Did you look up the code to see the things that can cause it to trigger?

Yes I did, was just looking to see if there were better ways to diagnose as opposed to just swapping parts hoping it fixes eventually, maybe some more likely culprits and some less likely ones
