- Hey, I’m looking into buying a 2005 Pontiac g6 v6 sedan and it has 147,000 miles on it. As far as I’ve checked and had a mechanic friend of mine check it’s in great shape. So my full question is, Is it worth buying it or should I just drop it and walk away?
NO. The one ur talking about is the 3.6 V6 and they are known to be crappy engines with timing chain and water pump issues. I would stay away from that car and especially at that mileage. If you really want a Pontiac get a Vibe since it's basically a Toyota Matrix underneath it and you can have better vibes when driving it since it can last a long time, unlike the G6. If u want a better 4 door sedan, go accord or camry.
The Pontiac G6 had 3 different V6 options. 3.5, 3.6 or 3.9 depending on model.
oh....
Well I am not too sure about the 3.5 and 3.9.
It is the 3.5 model
The 3.5 is a good motor. If the mechanic says it's good, and the offer isn't high then buy it.
They want $2,800 for it would you say that’s too high, sorry for asking so many questions lol this would be my first car
It's a good price. If you can get it for $2500, then you are good.
Well they had it listed for $3000 but they wouldn’t budge below $2800
I would just buy it then for that price.
