Pontiac G6 GT Transmission

Hey Scotty I have a 2005 Pontiac G6 GT 3.5L with a automatic transmission and 177k miles. My question is when I'm at a stop and I press the gas it feels like my tires are spinning for just a split second and sometimes it goes up to 4,000 rpm before it shifts gears and it doesn't always do it so I was going to drop my trans pan and change the filter and then put the old fluid back in it but substitute a quart for the Lucus trans fix. Would I be ok in doing this or should I just check my trans fluid level and just add if it needs it? Also where do I check the fluid since my car doesn't have a trans dip stick. Thanks for all your help love watching your channel.

you may need new tires

sometimes it goes up to 4,000 rpm before it shifts gears

the transmission is worn out.

if you're going to the trouble, then you might as well put fresh fluid in it. Otherwise leave it alone.
