Scotty, I recently purchased a Pontiac G8 V6 at a dealership that I actually work at that we got in on trade. The vehicle had 72,000 miles and the dealership was offering $9,000 online but sold it to me for $7,000. The mechanics had it up in the air and no leaks were to be found and no rubber boots were ripped. The vehicle does have a rip on the leather seat (typical in the G8). Do you think I made a good buy?
I think you paid too much. But with low mileage it should last a while.
I wasn’t really searching for a G8. It just kinda happened. I looked online and in my area and G8’s for $7,000 had no less than 120,000 miles on it and G8’s with 72,000 miles we’re going for no less than $10,000. I agree I paid too much because typically I never pay that much on a car, but I did it so I could start building my credit. I’m 19 years old btw.
You financed it since you are building your credit right? On a car that old the interest rate must be high.
The actual car is ok but anything related to the body panels on it will cost a fortune if you need it. It is basically a rebadged Holden so a lot of parts have to come from Australia.
Yes you paid too much but take care of it and it should last ok.
