I recently bought a 2011 Lexus RX350 at 129,000 miles. I love the car and it runs great, however I noticed the gas mileage is only 14-15mpg. I am not driving in the city and I do not have a lead foot. The car is rated to get MUCH better mileage, and there is little information online about solutions (though I do see that some other people have the same issue)
Well if you get 14 to 15 miles per gallon driving 60 mph there definitely is a problem. I would have to personally see if to check it out with my scan tool and analyze the dat of course. But things like running fuel injection cleaner through it, making sure the air filter isn't clogged and the fuel filter's clean and that the spark plugs aren't worn out is where I would start
Okay, I checked the air filter and it seems that it was very recently replaced. So no issues there. I reset the mpg calculator and got 15mpg on my trip to an auto parts store and picked up some gumout fuel injector cleaner. Going to run the tank till empty and then fill it up with the cleaner and see what happens. Thanks!
