Hello I have a 2017 Ford Explorer base model. When I put it in reserve it will make a popping noise after it moves 2 or 3 feet almost like gears going in at force. Have taken it to Ford dealership and they say they can find anything wrong. One of their services employees said they have a 2018 Ford Edge it it does the same thing I have call the for company about the issue they have said they had problems like this coming from the rear suspension of explorers before they would not detail on it do you have any info on this issue on the explorer having this problem. Thank you Tony.

Take it to a transmission shop. Suspect it is reverse solenoid or reverse band sticking. Ford won't find it until they want to sell a transmission.

If it was a body mount or suspension issue it should make more of a creaking noise in any direction and not "going away" after a few feet.
