Rev up your Engines!!!!
I have a 2007 Lexus GS 450H and the dash is lit up like a christmas tree.
Have the following dash lights on: Red Triangle of Death flashing (and loud beeping when start car), check engine light, ABS light and handbrake light are all consistently on.
My daughter was driving the car about 3 mos ago and that's when the Red Triangle started flashing and there was some beeping noise and she said the brakes stopped working. So she pulled over and was by a Firestone. I told her just to let Firestone look at it and the mechanic there ran the codes and said it was the break actuator but also said they didn't have the system or tools to do the job.
Well my daughter left the car there and I later got it and drove it home, it drove fine in my opinion with no breaking issues. I ended up just getting her a new car. So I called around to see if any indy shops could fix the issue with no luck so just for grins called a few dealerships. They told me if the actuator is the issue would be more than $4K (which is way more than i am willing to spend). I have been driving the car off and on for about 3 months and only issue I have had with it is when you first start it up and put in reverse I have to pump brakes twice to get them to engage properly... So if you mash the brakes right as you put in reverse the brakes will not work, but once you double pump they work fine and then work fine for whole time driving. I have driven it some distance (about a 40 mile trip) both in residential and highway and again no issues.
I am thinking this could possibly just a computer issue? Just wanted to get your opinion if you have some time.. I also took a video if interested. Love your channel on youtube and am a subscriber. Would appreciate the help if this piques your interest.
Also just FYI my daughter did get cut off by another driver before this issue happened and did some front end damage to the car, but looked to be only affecting the tire, front bumper and may have messed up struts a bit.
This is why I tell people not to buy high-tech V8 hybrid Lexus. Yeah they got all that fact the house you bought it can easily cause 4K to fix one of those brake systems when they go bad they have regenerative braking they have master cylinder assembly that cost thousands of dollars you basically brought the wrong car. You're either going to have to pay a mechanic who has all the fancy equipment and the ability to use it to work on that brake system or you going to be driving a dangerous car. If you don't want to spend the money my advice sell it
