Hey Scotty, I have a 2008 Suzuki sx4 it has 264,000 miles. it’s a 2.0 , manual 5 speed . I cant lie, I’ve beaten the crap out of this car , and it still ran great up until the other day. I was sitting in the drive through when I thought I heard what sounded like a fuse pop and the car went dead. No spark, no check engine light, no tach bounce. I put my code reader on it and there’s no communication with computer. Fuses are good. How do i check if the ecm is bad? Can I fix it if it is? If I get a used one, do I need to reprogram it? Can I do that myself? Thanks for any info.
Have you tried using a different scan tool, just to rule out the obvious?
If the car is completely dead it is more likely a main fuse or fusible link burned out than an ECU fault.
