- I have a base model 2001 Miata with 60,000 miles and 6 speed manual transmission. Occassionaaly when i hit a bump the battery light comes on. This is followed by near total power loss, tho the engine keeps running. The battery light turns off in about 10 to 20 seconds, and power returns. What might be the cause?

Loose connection
Bad ground
